London, DaDeOOL, 1997. Proof. Unbound. Fine. This appears to be George Locke's proof for a projected issue of The Secret Commonwealth of Rogues and Villains. If the volume was actually printed, I haven't seen it. This is one of five sets that George printed before running out of funds for the project. 94 pages, plus title to the rear and a preface by George under his Ayresome Johns pseudonym. Unbound folded sheets. I suspect the project got no further than this, and as far as I can tell the book was never otherwise published since Waite first put it together (Locke had a typescript of the book, suggesting it never got to publication). So, this is likely the only opportunity to read the book as the other four proofs in the set are likely already in collections (or still in the loft). That said, it's not a wonderful production, so despite the scarcity it's priced to sell. Signed by the editor. [Update: I've been informed that this item, in published form, was part of A Quest for Bloods, which indeed it is] [10027, Hyraxia Books].
