London, Frederick Warne, 1926. First Edition. First Impression. Hardback. A very good copy. An uncommon work, particularly in the jacket. I can find little about the author beyond him being connected with the church in New Zealand, having moved there from London. Seemingly a fantasy work for what we might call young adults nowadays revolving around a supernatural, elf-likfe being called Brown Smock. An interesting tale deserving of a btter read through than I've given it. Warne's file copy with their stamp to the front endpaper. Some chipping to the jacket and maybe a little trimming. No price anywhere, though pencilled 7/6 to the front endpaper. A nice copy. Cover art by Ellis Silas [10838, Hyraxia Books].
