London, Arthur Barker, 1934. First editions, first impressions. Hardbacks. A very good set. A nice set. A classic work of historical fiction narrated by the Emperor Claudius, who chronicles his life and the intrigues of the Julio-Claudian dynasty. Immortalised in the Derek Jacobi production in the 70s. I, Claudius has several tears to the top of the jacket at the spine and some rolling to the jacket edges, were it not for the tears it would be fine. Claudius is a little tanned, with crushing and rubbing here and there with a couple of short tears. Some heavier rubbing to the spine. Very limited foxing. [10895, Hyraxia Books].
