London, Simpkin & Marshall / Egerton Smith, 1834. First edition, first impression. Hardback. Very good condition. Manuscript subscription from the Duchess of Kent dated 1835. An anthology, with a variety of items. Of note are the Elysium items, early entries on animal welfare. Bound in half leather. Marbled boards. A little dusty and rubbed but in nice shape overall. Further ownership inscription dated 1842, and a pasted in synopsis of the book on the endpaper. Illustrations by George Cruikshank [11307, Hyraxia Books].
