A collection of 16 scripts. Nigel Kneale was one of the leading writers for TV in the realm of speculative fiction in the 50s, 60s and 70s. He was the husband of Judith Kerr. Comprising: [1] Quatermass and the Pit, a few ms amendments, some duplicate sheets in pink with blue sheets cancelled (crossed out). A number of sheets torn or with loss. Edge wear. 131 numbered pages, rectos (excluding duplicates). Brad-bound. [2] Story Teller, to be produced by Wilbur Stark. Probably Stark's copy with his sticker on the cover and first sheet. 152pp rectos only. A little wear, but nothing major. Brad-bound. [3] The Big, Big Giggle, probably Kneale's copy with his sticker. 153pp, rectos. Some light edgewear. Brad-bound. [4] Quatermass, four scripts (54pp, 52pp, 49pp, 53pp rectos), each with Douglas Rae's sticker (Kneale's agent?). One of the most successful TV shows of the time, this being the fourth series featuring Quatermass. Some staining to the edges and a little edge wear. Bard-bound. [5] The Year of the Sex Olympics, 113pp, rectos. A nice copy, some light wear. Brad-bound [6] A group of five scripts comprising The Year of the Sex Olympics (two copies) The Stone Tape (two copies) and The Road, grouped together because they're on the same paper and probably used for the preparation of the book publication. The scripts each have numerous amendments, likely by George Locke (the two duplicates don't). [7] The Crunch, 55pp. Kneale's signature to the first sheet. Some light edge wear. [8] Wine of India, 81pp, rectos, photocopy, brad-bound [9] The Year of the Sex Olympics, 113pp, rectos, photocopy, brad-bound [10] The Stone Tape, 95pp, rectos, photocopy, brad-bound. One leaf loose.
