"Lost race science fiction story set in the time of ancient Greece in which a super-scientific race in the depths of Africa abducts some Grecian maidens and takes them away in an airship. In the 'preface to the second edition', the author states that the story was designed and partly written about 1876" [Locke, Spectrum I: 16]. Quite uncommon. A superb copy. Nicholson (1850-1927) was an economist primarily but wrote three novels: Thoth, Dreamer of Dreams, and Toxar. Each in the early science fiction realm. 24pp catalogue dated 12/88 to the rear.
