London, Macmillan, 1887. First edition, first impression. Hardback. A very good copy. Triple decker, with all three volumes bound as one. Bound in full calf. Dedication copy inscribed 'To Edward R. Russell MP, June 1887 Hugh Farrie.' The dedication page reads 'To the friend who taught me whose companionship has been my priviledge and advantage, this book is affectionately dedicated' Farrie has crossed out the word 'to', so the dedication reads to Russell. An excellent association. Leather a little scuffed, spine darkened and rubbed. Internally very nice. [11918, Hyraxia Books].
