Frances Layland-Barratt - The Queen and the Magicians and Other Stories - Simpkin, Marshall, Hamilton, Kent & Co., 1900, First Edition.
London, Simpkin, Marshall, Hamilton, Kent & Co., 1900. First edition, first impression. Hardback. A very good copy. Quite uncommon. Layland-Barratt is probably best known for her novel Lycanthia (1935). "Six fairy tales for children, the title story is set in Atlantis, & the related tale, "The Princess Vita," is of real lost race interest: mer-people are Atlanteans who took on increasingly aquatic habits over a long period of time finally rebuilding their city in the sea." [Salmonson's Lost Race Checklist]. A very nice copy, some bumping to the spine tips and a little offsetting to the endpapers. [12013, Hyraxia Books].
