London, T. Werner Laurie & Methuen, nd [1915?] and 1929. Later Edition. Paperback. Two volumes, very good condition. The first volume is signed by Chesterton to the title page. There's an ownership inscription dated 1915 to the front endpaper. A little wear to the edges, some rubbing to the spine tips, but a bright copy overall. The second volume is signed by Chesterton again, but also Nicholas and E.C. Bentley. It's additionally extra-illustrated with cutouts of the three illustrators (beneath which they've signed). There's also a (printed) colour sketch pasted in to the half-title verso. Some markings to the boards and a little toning to the spine and labels (spine label lifting). Some foxing to the prelims but largely a bright copy. [12244, Hyraxia Books].
