London, Cassell, 1966. First edition, first impression. Hardback. A very good copy of scarce book. Much more common in the US first edition. First introduced as a short story in 1959, Keyes expanded the wonderful story to novel length. It was published by Harcourt in 1966 in the US, and by Cassell in the UK. Currey has the US edition as first, but other sources suggest the Cassell. An uncommon book. The spine head is a little crushed and worn to the jacket, with some white tape reinforcement to the the reverse. A few bumps and nicks elsewhere. Some spotting to the top edge.
