London, Arthur Barker, 1978. Hardback first edition and first impression. A near fine copy with some bumping to the spine tips and a little browning to the flaps. Bernard L. Ross is a pseudonym for Ken Follet, author of The Pillars of the Earth. A seemingly scarce book, Capricorn One is a novelistation of Peter Hyams' script for the film of the same name. The book is a thriller based on a fictitious account of a Mars landing hoax; the moon landing being popular with conspiracy theorists then (and now). The book is one of Follett's scarcer titles, most bibliographies record the more common futura publication, five copies on COPAC. The book is perhaps best known in the world of book collecting due to it being advertised on the rear of Douglas Adams' Hitch Hiker's Guide.
