"London, Hamish Hamilton, 1991. Hardback. First edition and first impression. A very good copy. A little edge wear to the jacket, particularly at the head of the spine with the laminate is wearing. Internally nice, just some signs of usage. Wonderland is one of Murakami's finest works, and one of his earlier titles. Carrying Murakami's usual fantastic strain, with an engaging plot and group of characters. The book won the Tanizaki Prize, and rightfully so, few authors in the realm of speculative fiction can match Murakami for imagination. Translated by Alfred Birnbaum. Murakami is known for being influenced by Chandler, which is somewhat evident in tone, though in substance it is more akin to Kafka, and of course the short novel Peter Schlemihl. The author's favourite work of his."
