New York, Simon & Schuster, 1962. First Edition. First Impression. A very nice copy. Signed by the author 'Ray Bradbury \ Aug, 30 \ 1986'. One of Bradbury's best and best-known books. His fourth novel (in some regards, his second novel given that The Martian Chronicles and Dandelion Wine are more fix-up in design). The book has had a profound influence on a number of subsequent fantasists and was praised for it's blending of reality with the supernatural. The landscape of speculative fiction owes a great debt to this novel. A highlight of speculative fiction. The book itself is in near fine shape, a couple of brown spots, and a pleasant owner's plate to the front endpaper (Fred T. Rodgers), some scuffing to endpaper, some bumping to the spine tips and edges. The jacket presents very well with trivial rubbing to the spine tips and a 20mm tear that has been neatly taped to the interior (almost invisible). A very presentable copy and much better than usually seen . Cover art / illustrations by Gray Foy [5878, Hyraxia Books].
