London, Voyager, 1998. First Edition. First Impression. A very good copy of the second in Martin's legendary Song of Ice and Fire series. Though often with titles like this collectors abide by a 'follow the flag' discipline, whereby they seek out the first hardback editions published in the author's country of birth, the first UK editions carry the iconic Jim Burns jackets, which in our opinion gives them a bit of an edge. Undeniably a force within the history of the genre, however strained the series is becoming. This copy is very good, with a little looseness to the jacket, some edge wear, including small chips to the upper spine and top front corner, two short closed tears. Page block toned as usual and showing signs of having been read. A reasonable copy overall. Cover art by Jim Burns [5909, Hyraxia Books].
