New York, Doubleday, 1957. First Edition. Later Impression. Interesting association. The book bears two stamps from Lurton Blassingame on the title and half-title. Blassingame was Heinlein's agent in the US, and to whom The Puppet Masters was dedicated six years earlier. The book also bears the label of Robert Harben Associates, another literary agency. In Pringle's 100 Best SF Novels, along with Wyndham's Midwich Cuckoo's [Pringle, p57]. The book is very good, with a faded spine and wear to the spine tips and corners. The flap is not clipped, but has a publisher's price overlay. Some bumping to the spine tips and some browning from the paste on the pastedowns. Decent enough copy. LATER impression with no First Edition statement. Cover art by Mel Hunter [5916, Hyraxia Books].
