Bangor, Maine, Philtrum Press, 1999. Limited Edition. Paperback. 379/500 Copies. Excellent copy. A highlight of King collecting. One of the few Philtrum Press books the author published, the book was distributed, with ephemera at a party for King. The chapbook is in fine condition, signed by king to the title page verso, as issued. A nice little production designed by Michael Alpert. Also included is the envelope, the necklace (tarnished), and a touching letter dated April 1999, outlining the original owner's memory of the party. The letter has had the previous owner's name and address redacted, though a little work indicates it's from a very well-known former King collector. One of the 24 proof copies of the book is also included, far scarcer than the book itself. The present copy is number 23 of 24, initialled by Alpert on a laid-in letter. Limitation noted 'Proof Copy'. Unsigned, as expected. Finally, included is a signed first edition of the US edition of The Girl Who Loved Tom Gordon was also distributed to guests at the party. Small mark to cover of proof. [6279, Hyraxia Books].
