Lakewood, CO, Privately Printed, 1953. Limited Edition. Paperback. A nice private production printing a short essay by Machen on J.A. Hammerton's 'A Bookman's Diary'. Four pages of text (one for the introduction and two and a bit for the essay), string bound. The present copy has been illustrated by hand (watercolour) by Carl Swanson, who wrote the introduction, and presumably the publisher. Princeton have a copy with a watercolour in too, so it's not unique in that sense, though we can't determine if all copies had the watercolour (it's a pretty poor painting, so it would take a fair bit of self-belief to think they'd help sell the booklets). Uncommon. [6400, Hyraxia Books].
