New York, Putnam, 1959. First Edition. First Impression. Hardback. A nice copy. One of Heinlein's most famous works, perhaps one of his best and certainly one of his most collectable first editions. One of the finest works of science fiction, a Hugo award winner. Initiated a whole school of militaristic American SF [Pringle, 301]. Number 31 in the NPR Greatest SF list. From the collection of Jack D. Slater. The book has a little bumping to the spine tips and Slater's Boris Vellejo plate to the front free endpaper. The jacket has some wear to the spine tips, most noticable to the top of the spine, but also present at the lower tip. One chip, around 4mm x 4mm to the top of the spine. Not too bad overall though, better than most commonly found. Cover art by Jerry Robinson [6435, Hyraxia Books].
