London, Arthur Barker; Pan Books; Heinemann, 1979-1992. First Edition. First Impression. Hardback. Five volumes comprising The Hitch Hiker's Guide to the Galaxy; The Restaurant at the End of the Universe; Life, the Universe and Everything; So long, and Thanks for all the Fish; Mostly Harmless. As is well known, the trilogy consists of five books (six if you include Eoin Colfer's title). Possibly the acclaimed work of humour in the science fiction genre and certainly a highlight in SF collecting. The Hitch Hiker's Guide is the second issue/state without the Capricorn One ad (as of writing we do have copies of the first issue if you're interested). The first volume is in near fine condition, with a little spotting - unpriced jacket as common. The second volume is fine with a little nick to the lower spine tip. Volume three is little bumped to the spine and has some toning to the jacket at the spine which continues a little to the rear plate. Volume four is a little rubbed but nothing major. Volume five has some wear to the corners and is price-clipped. Cover art by Andrew Kay, Daniel Rainey [6536, Hyraxia Books].
