London, Heinemann, 1957. First Edition. First Impression. Hardback. An excellent, early post-apocalptic novel with an interesting device wherein radiation is gradually spreading throughout the world, with devastating effect. Easy enough to find in first edition, though still popular, this copy is presented with an uncommon proof. Both are in very good condition. The book's jacket has a little edge wear and bumping, but better than most often found. Small stain to top corner. Soem tape reinforcements to jacket reverse. Some markings, probably tape burn, to the endpapers - not too bad though. The proof is in wraps and has some edge wear and some toning and wear to the cover. A nice pair, and a good addition to any science fiction collection covering the era. Cover art by John Rowland [6633, Hyraxia Books].
