New York, Avalon, 1962-1963. First Editions Thus. First Impressions. Hardbacks. Two volumes, complete. Previously serialised in 1950 and 1951 in four parts. De Camp added new material to make the two books a little more coherent. In 1963 a single volume was published by Ace. The present copy is the first hardback edition of both books. Each is signed by the author without inscription to the title pages. Condition is near fine with just a few signs of age, neat overall. A couple of spots of foxing to the boards of volume one. Volume one is a review copy with the publisher's slip laid-in. Cover art by Ed Emshwiller [6966, Hyraxia Books].
