Indianapolis, Privately Printed, 1966. Limited Edition. Hardback. 2/2 Copies. Limited edition compiled and collated from the files of early Weird Tales and Strange Tales magazines by William S. Johnson and William R. Griffiths. The present copy is copy number two (of two). Offered with an invoice from the binder (dated 1966) and a card from Griffiths to Johnson with a short hand-written (by Griffiths) Symons poem. Xeroxed magazine pages, bound. The other copy is most likely bound differently as the invoice from the binder notes only a single copy being bound. Locke argues, in Spectrum, for the classification of the present item as a book (as distinct from simply a bunch of photocopied pieces), and should be classified as such within Smith / Weird Tales bibliographies. [Locke, Spectrum, vol two, p101]. An interesting piece. Collects 22 short pieces from the two magazines, and a preface of sorts. [7255, Hyraxia Books].
