Bath, Privately Printed, 1980-1982. First Editions. First Impressions. Paperbacks. A near fine set. Five [5] volumes, a complete set. Uncommon. Holland and Giddings explore their theory that Middle-Earth is based on locations in the real world (Mordor is Babylon, Middle-Earth is the Mediterranean, Thracia is Thrashia is The Shire etc.) There's examinations of the written language, the animated film, literary analysis. It's a fascinating batch, if quite misguided and over zealous (Sauron = Golden Anus, yep). Only five volumes were published followed by a newspaper style publication. Some fading to the wraps here and there, but largely in excellent shape. [7754, Hyraxia Books].
