Smith describes this as 'a novel of an early race of people, featuring sorcery, barbaric rites, mythical beasts and a Viking invasion. A novel was never seemingly published under this title, and my lack of familiarity with Smith's books has prevented me from tying this manuscript to a published book; i.e. there's a chance this is unpublished, but short of reading the oeuvre, I can't claim that. The present item presents a selection of chapters from the novel (30 typed pages), a hand-drawn map of the land where the action takes place, and three pages of handwritten manuscript.
