London, Denis Archer, 1932. First Edition. First Impression. Hardback. Signed by the editor to his (first) wife. A very good book in a good jacket. John Gawsworth edited the book, which contains pieces from Edmund Blunden, Leigh Hunt and a translation of Lady Hester Stanhope by Arthur Machen. In amongst the previously and partially removed previous seller's marks you can pick out an inscription: 'Barbara from John \ 17 May 1933', \ advance copy Leap year 29 Feb '32 \ Pubd 17/3/32. At some point later, Gawsworth has put a little asterisk near Barbara and further added in ink '* My first wife \ JG'. An interesting association, mostly in pencil with some bits having suffered under a previous owner's eraser. The book is in decent shape, with just a little rubbing and bumping to the spine tips. The jacket is worn with areas of loss to the spine tips and upper edge. [7774, Hyraxia Books].
