London, Arthur H. Stockwell, n.d. [1939BL]. First Edition. First Impression. Hardback. A very good copy. Uncommon. COPAC locates two copies. No copies located in commerce. Gardner was a prominent Wiccan (founder of Gardnerian Wicca), known amongst modern pagans as the father of Wicca. The present title was his first novel, inspired by his dreams. Long out of print until some 20 years ago when a paperback reprint was issued. The reprint itself, though not rare, appears to attract high prices. An uncommon book, and undoubtedly an important piece of esoterica. Bookshop label to front pastedown, some spotting to cloth, spine tips bumped, slight lean, one leaf with a short (4mm) tear, some spotting to prelims. [7888, Hyraxia Books].
