London, Longman and Co., 1829. First Edition. First Impression. Hardback. A very good copy. Full title: Italian tales by Luigi Angeloni Frusinate, with Analytical Translations and a Key to Writing Italian on the Principles of the Hamiltonian System by Philip Orkney Skene. Translator's presentation copy with his inscription to the front endpaper. The translation goes beyond the interlinear (which was a part of the Hamiltonian system) to translate each word to English right after the Italian counterpart. A nightmare to read! Inscription reads 'Presented to Lady Blunt, the 29th April 1831 at Lewes by P.O. Skene' Uncommon. No copies found in commerce, two in British institutions. [8066, Hyraxia Books].
