London, Methuen, 1935. First Edition. First Impression. Hardback. A very good copy. The first issue of the jacket and book. Review copy, as denoted by included publisher's loose slip. Currey has no proirity between the first two issues with ads dated 535 and 835 (May, 1935 and August, 1935). The review slip shows a publication date of the 3rd of October. It would seem logical that the first batch of books to have ads inserted would be those dated 535 and the later batch being 835, there is however nothing to assert that given the publication date of October. Personally, I would suggest that the 535 state would the preferred one. The main text block is otherwise indistinguishable. The jacket is complete with moderate edgewear. Spine a little rubbed, with a couple of short tears, the longest ~10mm. Forecorners a touch rubbed and worn, upper and lower jacket plates a bit rubbed. Lower plate a touch rubbed, a couple of tears ~15mm. All fairly neat. Boards a bit rubbed and toned, foreedge foxed. All in all a respectable copy that's rarely found in fine condition.
