London, Henry S. King, 1873. First Edition. First Impression. Hardbacks. A near fine set. Inscribed by Collins to Frederick Locker, to whom the book bears the printed dedication on the dedication page. A lovely copy. A note to the endpaper of volume one by Locker states that Collins had the books bound for him, with Locker's coat of arms on the upper board. Full leather, in a fairly tidy binding. Plates to the front pastedowns of Locker. Laid in is a publisher's letter outlining a little of the history. Photo-plate of Collins bound in to volume one. Letter from Collins tipped in to volume three. Photo plate in last volume also, of unidentified person. Each volume bears a subsequent owner's inscription on the front pastedown.
