London, Harper Collins / Voyager, 1995-1997. First Editions. First Impressions. Hardbacks. Three volumes. A nice set of Hobb's first trilogy. Certainly a highlight in modern fantasy collecting. In our opinion one of the finest pieces of fantasy writing since Tolkien. This story spawned a whole group of stories based around the Six Duchies and further afield. The books are all near fine, spines in very good shape with a little bumping to the tips. Volume one with a little rubbing to the gilt and a few indentations to the boards, page block tanned as common. Volume two has a split to the cloth (~20mm). Volume three is foxed to the top edge and the boards are a little grubby. Cover art by John Howe [8686, Hyraxia Books].
