The recipient, who has also signed the books to the same pages as the author, is Canadian writer Greg Gatenby, as appreciated in his work in the field of literature as for his own writing. The signatures are 22nd December 1994. A lovely set, uncommon to have all three inscribed. The first three Earthsea books, a loose trilogy (until 1990's Tehanu). Preceeded by the US Parnassus Press and Atheneum editions, these are the first British editions. A highlight of modern fantasy. Slight softening to the spine tips, some dustiness to top edges, the red on the spine of the jacket of volume one is faded. Slight reading leans. Atuan has some spotting to the front endpaper.
