London, Harper Collins / Voyager, 1995-1997. First editions, first impressions. Hardbacks. Three volumes. A good set of Hobb's first trilogy. Certainly a highlight in modern fantasy collecting. In our opinion one of the finest pieces of fantasy writing. This story spawned a whole group of stories based around the Six Duchies and further afield. The books are all good, spines in decent shape with some bumping and softening to the tips. Blocks a touch toned. Volume two hinge pulled to title page (common with every copy we've had). A little rubbed with light edge wear. Some spotting to the top edge. Volume three has a binding error to rear pastedown where the corner's been tucked in. A nice set though.
