London, Heinemann, 1893. First edition, first impression. Hardbacks. A good copy. Three volumes, complete. Presentation copy inscribed "Henry Labouchere with the author's compliments, Frank Barrett, 1893". Labouchere was a politician and arts ethusiast, perhaps remembered most notoriously for the eponymously named amendment in British law criminalising homosexual activity (he was also not too fond of feminism or the Jews, so basically a classic Victorian British man). 16pp ads dated October 1892 to rear of volume three. Condition: Volume one has splashmarks to the covers, spines are a touch rubbed and toned. Reading leans and some offsetting to endpapers. [9153, Hyraxia Books].
