Stuart Schiff [ed.] - A Collection of Whispers Inscribed by the Editor to Jim Pitts - Whispers Press, 1973-1987.

Fayetteville, NC, Whispers Press, 1973-1987. A wonderful association set, the complete run of Whispers Magazines (there were full book anthologies and supplements). The collection is inscribed, almost throughout, by the editor Stuart Schiff to illustrator Jim Pitts. Jim didn't illustrated the first two issues, but illustrated many of the subsequent issues - a fact highlighted in Stuart's lovely inscriptions.The magazine won four World Fantasy Awards, and rightly so. It's an important publication with works from some of the top voices in the field. It's not often seen as a full run (this is a full run right Stuart?) Volume one is inscribed to JP from David Riley, Volume 11-12 is inscribed to JP by John Stewart to his entry (and with a little sketch on the contents), all others are inscribed by Schiff to JP. Some general edge wear, but nothing major. [9564, Hyraxia Books].
