London, Saunders & Otley, 1845. First edition, first impression. Hardback. A good copy. An amusing, and rare book. No copies located in commerce (that's a lie, I found an auction record from 1881). The present copy bears the inscription of William Macready, an actor. Funnily enough, the book also bears the label of the The Postal History Society. A nice little book wherein our postman admits to reading all the mail he delivers and herein records his findings. Presumably fictional. The binding is quite heavily worn, almost splitting along the spine. Heavily rubbed to the edges. A couple of torn leaves, sticker removal from front pastedown. Some spotting.
