A Martian Utopia where ageing reverses (Clute speculates that it may well be the first example of this as a basis for a story). An early example of using Mars as a satirical metaphor for Earth, with parallel evolution. Roe (1843-1921) was a wealthy American, with writing being a hobby of sorts, he's probably best remembered for Inquierendo Island, published prior to the present title and being a similar sort of book. The book is stamped and marked Boston Athenaeum with a couple of plates to the front pastedown. The boards are worn to the edges, there's a spine lean and some bumping. Plate removed from the rear. All in all, a nice enough copy, albeit Ex-Library. [11369, Hyraxia Books].
