London, Greening & Co., 1909. First edition, first impression. Hardback. A very good copy. A rare Hubin-listed book. The present copy inscribed by the author. A weird mystery involving an island with huge spiders, a deranged man, a pagan priesthood and the Aztecs! Beneath the author's inscription is an owner's inscription dated 1951 from a father to his children, possibly the person to whom Harris-Burland inscribed the book in 1909, but who knows. Some bumping to the tips, light foxing to the prelims and the foreedge of the half-title is chipping a bit. A nice copy though, of a rare book. [10721, Hyraxia Books].
