London, Harper & Brothers, 1899. A very good copy. First edition, first impression. Signed and dated in the year of publication by the author, with a little sketch of himself. A nice copy, uncommon signed, particularly with the sketch. The author is known to have inscribed volumes with lightening portrait sketches, few however are of the quality and finish seen here. (Bleiler; Locke: Spectrum of Fantasy). The frontispiece with the original tissue guard professionally (and invisibly) re-attached. A little bumping to the spine tips, with a few isolated spots of foxing and a couple of marks to the leaves. [9683, Hyraxia Books].
