There's an ownership inscription dated 1915 to the front endpaper. A little wear to the edges, some rubbing to the spine tips, but a bright copy overall. The second volume is signed by Chesterton again, but also Nicholas and E.C. Bentley. It's additionally extra-illustrated with cutouts of the three illustrators (beneath which they've signed). There's also a (printed) colour sketch pasted in to the half-title verso. Some markings to the boards and a little toning to the spine and labels (spine label lifting).
