Comprising: The Scrapbook, annotated by hand throughout by the author and includes: mounted dustjacket parts, a poem to his daughter 'Little Twinkle', a telegraph from his wife, a postcard from his daughter, oodles of newspaper clippings. The scrapbook then has a gap of around five years after which it recommences with coverage of the film adapatations, including, press materials, clippings, (one pasted sheet roughly removed), a signed card from Rene Ray (Ray was the lead actress in the adaptation), 26 glossy 9.5" x 7.5" production stills, a telegraph to the author announcing the sale of the rights to the book for ?250, two autograph letters signed to Rutter (1934) from Anthony Kimmins (the film's director), als from Eliot Makeham (the film's lead), a letter from writer and friend Ernest Raymond, there are then several further letters, some perhaps from the public - not all identified. One of particular interest is regarding the poor astronomy in the book. Separate to the scrapbook (I mean, they could slide inside it if you really want them to, but Rutter hasn't pasted them in) are: press brochure for the film, artwork for the arms of Shrimpton-in-Space (the film's locale), a further fold publicity brochure, another als from Kimmins, tls from Curtis Brown presenting payment, 3pp typed contract for the film rights. Overall, in decent shape and a lovely collection. [11100, Hyraxia Books].
